When it comes to dinner, sometimes my husband and I are at a loss as to what and where to eat. We will discuss for hours where to eat dinner, turning down the various suggestion for lack of healthy options available at a particular restaurant. Over the past year and a half, we have drastically changed our eating habits and quality of food we take in. We have learned that quality is better over quantity. We feel better, look better, and even think better/clearer than before. It seems that buffets/restaurants have slim pickings for good quality, mineral, and vitamin enriched foods. Nowadays it’s full of fats, and various chemically processed selections labeled as food. At the end of the day, one will be hungry again simply because it provides little or no nutritional value. It is always better to eat a home cooked meal, but with our busy lifestyle, that may not always be possible.
I see and hear of many people leaving their local assembly with similar attributes. What they are receiving across the pulpit has little spiritual substance, and if it does, it is tainted with poison, yet they continue to go.
My friend, Jesus has a table spread that when you eat from that nutrient rich buffet that He lays out for you, it not only feeds your spiritual man, but you improve as a whole, body mind and spirit.
You wouldn’t continue to go to a buffet/restaurant forking out twenty dollars per person (more or less) knowing you’re going to leave empty, thirsty and hungry or be hungry two hours later would you? Then why would you do that when feeding your spiritual man also?
After awhile, starvation or a nutritional deficiency WILL lead to death!!
Find a place where you’ll get fed good quality spiritual food in abundance, in an atmosphere that promotes repentance without condemnation and where you can drink from His fountain and walk out chewing and digesting all that you took in for days to come.
On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. 38 He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” 39 But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing[g] in Him would receive; for the Holy[h] Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified. John 7:37-39
Blessed [are] they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. Matthew 5:6
It IS a matter of life and death.
